How to Download the Progressive Web App for Mobile

What is a Progressive Web App? A progressive web app (PWA) is a website that looks and behaves as if it is a mobile app. PWAs are built to take advantage of native mobile device features, without requiring the end user to visit an app store, make a purchase and download software locally.

Downloads take place easily just by visiting the website and installing directly from the browser. 

To get an enhanced mobile experience and allow for mobile push notifications when new messages come in, we have created a Progressive Web App that can be added to your phone and used like a mobile app.

NOTE: Safari is required to use to download the app. Apple only supports mobile push notifications for browser apps when installed via Safari. No other browser installation will support push notifications.

  1. Open Safari
  2. Visit our platform URL - https://app.textel.net 
  3. Click on the share icon at the bottom (square box with an up arrow)
  4. Scroll down to the "Add to Home Screen" option and click that

The app should now display on your phone's home screen.

 

Download Instructions for Android Phones

  1. Open Chrome (other browsers may operate differently so the steps may vary)
  2. Visit our platform URL - https://app.textel.net
  3. You should see a prompt at the bottom of the screen to "Add Textel to Home Screen"
    1. If no prompt, click on the vertical three dots at the top of the screen and look for an "Add" or "Install" option
  4. Click the option and it will add the app to your home screen
